As a convert who has lived in the same very small town since before I joined the church I sometimes come to a realization that different wards sometimes do things differently. There is a real and honest attempt to make sure everyone is on the same page. Use the same lesson books and manuals, and to identify and follow the same doctrine. In major things this is quite often well done. In some things we still find out that "that is not how it is done".

Our two wards empathize that we should not wear masks in the church. Makes sense to me. There are "tailgate" or "trunk" parties where people try to allow children to have fun while under a supervised, or 'safe' atmosphere. Someone (quite a few people) have given some thought about how to bridge the 'popular' or 'american' culture with the type of culture for development of children towards being future leaders in an emerging society. “Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do
many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much
righteousness;

As new members move in and out we get exposed to well thought out goals for us and our children. Some of these people coming in are coming from situations where we can use the help and thoughtfulness they bring with them, others come in as earnest members wanting and needing to know the next set of steps that we need to take to pull ourselves into tune with people who have been working towards these goals. And some people have simply moved to gradually 'get lost" and move away from the church.
