By your interpretation of this chapter this verse (Matt 16:18) are you saying Jesus lied when saying nothing would prevail against his church? Or at the very least did Jesus misspeak. Did Jesus give a bad prophesy? Now prophets might be fallible but to say Jesus said anything wrong is more then an insult. That might seem over the top but I feel this does require a response like this. You Might consider your interpretation of that verse is wrong. Because if your understanding is saying that Jesus said nothing would prevail against the church, then apostasy happened so it made that statement false, well then that means all together you believe Jesus said something untrue. Another interpretation of that verse by Hugh Nibley is the gates of hell would not prevail against the church because right after Jesus says that he gives Peter the sealing keys. And if you look at what the original Greek word for hell is it is Hades. Hades just meant death or after life. So overall the gates of death would not overcome the church because of the sealing keys. Now Hugh Nibley was not a General Authority, but I like that interpretation more then Jesus lied.

Studying Jewish Law’s and Tradition’s revels things like: only a wife, mother or when necessary another close female relation such as sisters, grandmother etc. These will also show just who provides the wine at a wedding feasts and also why Mary Jesus’ Mom was the Hostess at the wedding feast. There’s many things that are not written in many writings because they are “common knowledge” to those cultures etc where they are written so those of us that are not as familiar with them must further search other sources of information in order to get a more complete understanding of things.I know that I have to constantly research through others sources of knowledge in order to help my answer questions that I find myself asking and then after doing so find more questions to research, as a result I always tell people that the more that I study and learn the less that I know!

There is a BIG difference between having the “light of Christ” (which is promised to all people born on the earth) and the “Gift of the Holy Ghost” which is given by the Lord only to those people who are members of the Church after baptism. Kate Kelly is no longer a member of the Church, and so she will indeed have to claw and scratch and fight every day of her life for a portion of the spirit, and to maintain her testimony. No more automatic sweet witness bearing testimony to her soul from time to time that the church is true.

But if OW receives word from the prophet that after an honest petition the Lord has said no, will they be willing to accept that? And trouble the Lord no more on the matter? I think not.

I agree with you,and to me,this is also satan trying to attack the church from the inside out,trying to create a division among members,hoping that it will damage the church,it is not for nothing that the Lord said that we have to watch and pray continually,for the adversary tries everything he can to destroy the TRUE church of God!!

The Lord also told St Peter that he and his successors would hold the keys and that nothing could prevail against it- so if that could have gone wrong so can other churches go wrong.

We do’t know she was his wife, it is certainly not mentioned in the Bible.

No the priesthood was not banned from “all” the “negros” or the Blacks, (sorry I find negro as insulting) it was keeped from the blacks of African disent, not all Blacks come from Africa.

She was His wife, so yeah He did go and see/reveal Himself to her first, wouldn’t you also go and see your wife first? I would!

Protesting at General Conference doesn’t constitute coersion and challenge? I sure think it does. Kate Kelly and everyone involved in OW need to trust in the Lord, as he reveals his word through his prophet. Multiple prophets, maybe even all of them, have said that the Lord has given the Priesthood to men. End of story.
