1 Corinthians 11 says that a woman's hair is her glory and it was given to her as a covering.

There is no such a thing as a Mormon Temple (no one worships the prophet Mormon nor does anyone pray to him or sing songs about him), and there is no Mormon Church (for the same reason previously stated). https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/83e036df79dc031d6d809ef53e9740072c90e7a69c95026e8cf0a83c541062fd.jpg

you "get around that" mikefromms by understanding that revelation and practice are sometimes intricatly linked to culture and history- you get around that becuase this same paul who writes about headcoverings is seeped in sexism saying woman is not made in the image of god, but of man-- in genesis there are 2 accounts of creation, one where god makes man and woman "in his own image", and then that same paul says women are redeemed in childbirth-- i thought it was in christ. that sam e paul goes on to encourage slaves to submit to theri masters-- so do we tell the african americans to go back on the civil rights movemnet? no, we don't. so why do we tell women to go back to the culture of paul-s time, coming out of roman and jewish realities where they had no legal or even human or social rights, were seen as basically slaves-- so in that time, paul talking about women and men submitting mutually to each other, and men serving women as christ the church, and loving them AS THEMSELVES, these things you notice also don't get emphasized almost at all-- because even in our day, it is radical to call a man out on his desire to dominate and control with ego, and not step up and ive and sacrifice with spirit-- so people like yourself just talk about women and submitting, etc. and headcoverings.

And where does it say it was just a custom? It clearly says a man is not to cover his head when praying (1st Cor. 11:4), and why he should not (1st Cor. 11:7); how do you get around that?
