Gramps,

Does the Prophet or other Church authorities make money off the books they write while serving at the time? I would feel uncomfortable if they were making money from their positions.

Deb, from Arizona

Dear Deb,

Why would you feel uncomfortable if any of the General Authorities were to receive an income as an author while serving in office? They give their lives to the service of the Lord, and receive as compensation what I would imagine would be a very modest living allowance. I’m sure that you would see no problem with any other church officers or members receiving an income from books that they write. Why should the General Authorities be any different?
