Gramps,
What are the age of spirits in the pre-existence and in the spirit world? Please give me the scriptures. I need something to back me up in a big discussion on the subject. Many thanks
Fred, from Cheraw, South Carolina

Dear Fred,
Sorry, no dates are given in the scriptures for such events as the age of spirits. Perhaps the reason is that time only is measured unto man, Alma 40:8. The concept of time is related only to the seven thousand years of the earth’s temporal existence. As we read in D&C 88:110—

…seventh angel shall sound his trump; and he shall stand forth upon the land and upon the sea, and swear in the name of him who sitteth upon the throne, that there shall be time no longer….

Now, as angels have appeared to men, they have for the most part been resurrected beings as far as we know they have appeared in physical form as it would be in its prime, but to attempt to assign some age or apparent age to a resurrected being or to a spirit, is meaningless.
