Question

Gramps,

Does consecrated oil have to be extra virgin olive oil or any of the stages of olive oil? Seems we would use the best which is the first press being the extra virgin type.

The only requirement about the oil is that it must be 100% olive oil, no blends. Any other factors that determine different qualities are not important. Once the oil has been concecrated by proper authority nothing else needs to be done to it prior to use.

I have found that it will degrade over time if I keep it in my key chain vial, so I have a habit of changing it out every month or so, just for my own comfort. I will consecrate a small amount and keep it in my refrigerator, then re-fill my key chain as needed. I’m not even sure this is necessary, but I figure if it doesn’t hurt anything, it’s okay.
