You often read and hear how the Savior and his apostles and prophets cast out evil spirits… and we are taught in the Mormon Church that we will have enmity from Satan and his followers. Do Mormon Saints believe in demonic possession or not?

Dear Danny,
It is emphatically taught in the Mormon Church that there is enmity be Satan’s hosts and the forces of righteousness. Would anyone want it any other way? The Savior and His apostles emphatically cast out evil spirits. If there was demonic possession at the time of Christ, there is demonic possession today. Does the priesthood today have power over evil spirits to cast them out of possessed persons? Emphatically, Yes! I have had that experience myself.
