Gramps,

Hello, I’m a member of the church, but am confused by something I have heard said that a single woman will have a husband in heaven. Now I’m curious as to how this can happen when the bible clearly states there will be no marrying or given in marriage in heaven, so what’s up here?

Cora, from Lancaster, California

Dear Cora,

Where did you hear that one? The only marriages that will be valid in the eternities are those that are sealed by the authority of the holy priesthood in the temples of our God. Further, among them, the only ones that will remain valid will be with those participants who honor the covenants of fidelity and faithfulness that they made at the time of their marriage.
