Has the seventh seal been opened?

Karen, the seven seals each represents 1000 years of the earth’s temporal existence (D&C 77:6). If we take that to be a literal 1000 years and not a rough number, and if we accept the conventional date of the Fall at 4000 BC, then the seventh seal has been opened. If the 1000 years is more of a rough number used for symbolic completeness, then we are in the season of the opening of the seventh seal. If we base it on events, I don’t think we’re in the seventh seal yet. The seventh seal is ushered in with heaven silent for 1/2 an hour (Revelation 8:1), and the sixth seal has influential people fearing God’s wrath (Rev 6:15-17) and a large scale gathering of Israel (not just Ephraim) (Rev 7:4-8).
Latter-day Saints have a great advantage when reading the book of Revelation because we read it in the light of modern revelation. Much of the hidden Apocalypse will yet be uncovered as we receive more revelation. I think when the seventh seal is opened, we will have prophetic guidance from the Lord’s modern servants.
