Question

Dear Gramps,

Who is Raphael? I think there is some answer some where but I have forgotten where I read it.

Norman

Answer

Dear Norman,

The Hebrew celestial hierarchy is said to consist of seven archangels. The names of two of these, Michael (Adam) and Gabriel (Noah) are found in the Bible and in latter-day revelation– (Jude 1; Luke 1:5-38; D&C 128:21). The name of a third archangel, Raphael, is found in the apocryphal book of Tobias 10:15 and in the D&C 128:21.
