Question
Dear Gramps,
First of all, I wanted to say thank you for all your help and answers on here. I really appreciate you and have a respect for you, even though I don’t even know you! Yet want to make sure your slate is clean? Can I just overall repent for the sins I’ve told that I can’t even remember? Is it still important if it’s not bagging on my mind with guilt?
Sydney
Answer
Sydney,
Gramps is always pleased to hear and know that people are enjoying his answers. I hope that I may continue to enjoy the respect and kindness you have shared with me.
In answer to your question, I would move forward in faith and hope, not allowing yourself to be overburdened by white lies you have said in the past.
As you continue to move forward in faith and hope, the Lord may from time to time open your mind’s eye to a time when you spoke a white lie. When the Lord makes this known unto you, then you can repent and move forward.
As long as you are worthy to partake of the sacrament and are striving to do your best to keep the commandments of God I would draw your mind to this scripture, “for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.” (2 Nephi 25:23)
When we are doing all that we know, according to the knowledge we have been given, the Lord handles the rest.
