Question

Dear Gramps,

Thoughtout history there have always been legends about Bigfoot, abominable-snowman and Yeti, with possible film footage. What is the Mormon Church’s stand or explanation about these creatures?

Mel

Answer

Dear Mel,

As far as I know, the LDS Church has no official position on the existence on any forms of life that may possibly have been observed on the earth, such as the creatures you mentioned, or the Loch Ness monster, sea serpents, unicorns, mastodons and mammoths, etc.

The existence or absence of these creatures is no more related to the things of the spirit and matters of doctrine with which the Church is concerned than are the animals that have been verified to exist by confirmed observation.
