After a divorce, a Priesthood holder might receive restrictions in the Mormon Church based on the nature of his actions which resulted in divorce. In Mormonism, denying the Holy Ghost, murder in the first degree, and some cases of adultery are considered “sins unto death.”
Mormon churches and vistor’s center at Mormon temples often have pictures of Christ hanging up. This should not be confused with “graven images” since the pictures serve as a reminder of Christ and are neither a substitute nor something that is worshipped. This is in harmony with the intent of the Biblical commandment.
When dealing with fast offerings Mormon doctrine teaches that the Lord cares more about the heart of the giver than the exact amount of money given. Mormons believe it is wise to prioritize.
Don’t confuse custom with principle. Customs change from day to day, and Mormons believe it is important to respect the customs appropriate to the age in which we live.
When Mormons sustain someone as a leader, they promise to help and support that leader and not to criticize him. If there is a serious issue of worthiness, Mormons are advised to go to the leader who is directly over the leader in question and leave the matter to be handled by the proper authority.
Some Mormons do not drink caffinated beverages because of the Mormon Word of Wisdom. These people are at times ridiculed by people claiming that the Mormon church is one of the larger stock holders for Coca Cola. Such false interactions are best turned into opportunities to share the Mormon Gospel with others.
To sacrifice a master’s degree at a Baptist seminary in order to convert to Mormonism would show the Lord you love Him and honor Him more than the world.
Adversity and trials will end ultimately only when this life ends. Continually overcoming obstacles is a tribute to your faith and strength in the Lord.
If the Lord reveals to youi that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and contains the fullness of the gospel, then the Mormon doctrine that is contained in the Book of Mormon, must also be true.
Mormonism teaches that suffering has a purpose. We must do our best to love and serve those who are at this point in their lives.
