Dear Gramps,

I am a convert to the LDS Church. I was ordained to the office of a Priest shortly after I was baptized and then later I was ordained to the office of the Melchizedek Priesthood. I am trying to trace my Priesthood line of Authority. I contacted the brother who ordained me and he said that he does not have it. He said that he did not receive a copy when he was ordained. He has even forgotten who ordained him. My question to you is how can I find out or can I?

Rodney,

You may request your priesthood line of authority by following the steps outlined mormon priesthood line of authorityhere.  You may call the number or send an email. For some of the information required (ordination date for instance), you may need to contact your ward membership clerk and request your individual ordinance records.
