Is there a specific date for the time of the flood?

Dave,

Here is an interesting article on the Church web site about the flood and tower of Babel:

The Flood and the Tower of Babel – Ensign Jan. 1998 – ensign

The article is by Donald W. Parry, and here is what it says about him: “… is an assistant professor of Hebrew at Brigham Young University and a member of the international team of translators of the Dead Sea Scrolls.”

Noah's ark MormonThe flood is believed to have happened between 2400 and 2300 BC, probably somewhere in the middle of that time frame. The Bible says Noah was 600 years old. Even though it “rained” forty days and forty nights, the Bible says the “flood waters prevailed upon the earth an hundred and fifty days” (Gen. 7:24). That’s 5 months!

To the best of my knowledge, the exact timing of the flood is not given. So, all I can offer is that it happened between 2400 and 2300 BC, which was over 4300 years ago!
