Question
Gramps,
In the Mormon scripture Doctrine and Covenants 131:1 we read that there are three degrees of glory in the Celestial Kingdom. We know that to enter into the highest degree of glory in the Celestial Kingdom a man must enter into the new and everlasting covenant of marriage. What can you tell me about the lesser two degrees of glory in the Celestial Kingdom? Thank you.
Gloria
Answer
Dear Gloria,
The other two glories in the celestial kingdom are not specifically defined in the scriptures. However, we do know that all children who die before the before the age of accountability inherit the celestial kingdom (D&C 137:10), and also
“all who have died without a knowledge of this gospel, who would have received it if they had been permitted to tarry, shall be heirs of the celestial kingdom of God; Also all that shall die henceforth without a knowledge of it, who would have received it with all their hearts, shall be heirs of that kingdom.” (D&C 137:8)
