Do Latter-day Saints have a responsibility to share heavenly visions?

What responsibility does a person have after receiving a heavenly vision or visitation? Latter-day Saint scripture gives us some fascinating examples. While God sometimes commands people to share what they have seen, other revelations are meant to remain private and sacred. Even Apostles are not necessarily expected to publicly describe every spiritual experience they receive. So what determines whether a person should testify, act, or simply keep the experience to themselves?
