Dear Jennifer,
That means that although most of your family is from Ephraim, your son is from Judah. If you trace your genealogy back to Ephraim, so does he. If he traces his genealogy back to Judah, so do you. So your family is of mixed blood, as are all the other families of today. It is said that anyone who comes from England is related to everyone else who comes from England within 33 generations. We all have both prominent and recessive genes. I do not know if the genealogical attachment to one tribe or another is a genetic characteristic or not, but if so, your son would have more prominent characteristics from the Judah side of your family than from the Ephraim side.
